Let’s Boycott Companies that Support ICE

If they get ICE’s dollars, they don’t get ours!

New 2026 Mantra: If companies get money from ICE - they don’t get money from us.

Companies Supporting ICE

The Nation has a helpful article detailing what companies work with ICE and an impact list of those who have contracts with ICE expiring soon. These companies are more vulnerable to pressure campaigns. I’ve taken the contract details from that article and noted them in (brackets). More Perfect Union has shared a list on social media as well from Robert Reich.

I’ve repurposed their info below with a focus on everyday companies you may interact with.

UPS ($90,500 small-package delivery contract with ICE, expiring March 2026), FedEx ($1 million delivery services contract with ICE, expiring March 2026)

• Alternatives: Use the Postal Service (USPS) or DHL instead. DHL is a publicly traded German company, has not spent money on lobbying in the last 20+ years, and supports DEI.

• If you’re a small business and can afford to make a switch to USPS/DHL instead of UPS/Fedex for your shipping, do it! It has a big impact since you’re a higher volume customer.

Dell ($18.8 million contract with ICE for Microsoft software licenses, expiring March 2026)

• Alternatives: Haven’t fully looked into laptop manufacturer alternatives yet, but Framework is a upgrade-able & repairable laptop. Avoid Apple, Google, Microsoft, HP - all donated to Trump’s Ballroom in 2025.

Comcast ($24,600 Internet services contract for ICE Seattle office, expiring May 2026.) Comcast also donated to Trump’s ballroom, and they own NBC and streaming platform Peacock. While not mentioned in The National article, Charter Communications, aka Spectrum, also has a contract with ICE.

• Alternatives: It’s much harder to switch your internet provider as you often don’t have more than 1-2 options. Verizon ended its DEI program in May 2025 to get approval to acquire Frontier Communications, so it’s not exactly a good place to switch to either.

• However, for Comcast since they own Peacock/NBC, you can cancel your Peacock subscription if you can’t change your internet service provider. Need something else for streaming? I have good alternatives here and here, and questionable ones that you can make your own decision on whether to support.

AT&T ($83 million IT and network contract with ICE, with a potential end date of July 2032)

• Alternatives: Check out my post for Cellphone Carrier Alternatives.

Home Depot and Lowe’s are (using AI-powered license plate readers and feeding this data into law enforcement surveillance systems accessible to ICE. Their parking lots are also regular sites of ICE raids targeting day laborers.)

• Alternatives: Recommend Ace Hardware, Do It Best, or TrueValue instead. Ace Hardware & Do It Best are both co-ops, meaning the store owners also own the brand. TruValue was owned by private equity but was bought out by Do It Best in late 2024.

Amazon (provides ICE with the digital backbone for its data and surveillance operations through Amazon Web Services. Amazon’s Whole Foods stores are a rich potential target for nonviolent disruption on big days of action.)

• Whistles from companies other than Amazon: PartyCity (24ct, $5.99), Zurchers (metal sports whistles, 12ct, $13.29, 6ct whistle bracelets $4.49). For more info on these companies, check my party supplies article.

• Inflatable Frog Costumes from companies other than Amazon: AliExpress has inflatable frog costumes for $29.46. I haven’t fully looked into AliExpress, but it’s at least not Amazon, Walmart, or Target which is what popped up when I searched. HalloweenCostumes.com also has inflatable animal costumes, though they don’t have a lot of frog options. More on HalloweenCostumes.com here.

LexisNexis ($21 million data-brokerage contract with ICE.)

• Alternatives: I’m not sure what a good alternative for this is, but per The Nation’s article: “This company is particularly vulnerable to pressure from university students and professor unions, since much of its revenue comes from colleges.” If you are in a position to increase pressure as a student or a professor, please do!

Motorola Solutions ($15.6 million tactical communication infrastructure contract with ICE, expiring May 2026). I’m including this here to note that Motorola Solutions is a separate company from cellphone manufacturer Motorola since 2011.

Hilton Alternatives

Hilton was not listed on The Nation’s article, but they provide ICE with lodging in various cities. Hilton has removed a Hampton Inn franchise in Minneapolis from their system for refusing to allow ICE agents to stay there and fired a Hilton Anatole employee in Dallas for sharing a video warning people ICE agents were staying there.

The major players besides Hilton (Marriott, Hyatt, IHG) aren’t clean from ICE either.

Marriott: ICE held detainees in a Marriott property in Louisiana, potentially since 2023. This goes against Marriott’s own 2019 policy refusing to allow its properties to be used as detention centers.

• Brands under Marriott: Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, Courtyard, Aloft Hotels, Moxy Hotels, more here

Hyatt: There was a protest last September at the Hyatt Place in Medford, MA which protestors believed was hosting ICE agents. It’s unclear if the agents were actually staying there as the location claims they had no knowledge of ICE agents staying there, but I would not be surprised if they were being untruthful.

• Brands under Hyatt: Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Place, more here (scroll to chart at the bottom of the page)

IHG: I could not find any articles directly mentioning ICE agents being hosted by IHG properties, but protestors demonstrated outside of a Holiday Inn in LA in June after ICE agents had reportedly checked in to the location.

Independently-Owned Hotel Groups

I recommend trying to find independently-owned hotels instead of using one of the Big 4 hotel groups. None of the companies below have profiles on OpenSecrets.

• Magnuson Hotels: Network of locally-owned hotels mostly in the US with some international locations. Magnuson Hotels is independently owned by the founders, Thomas & Melissa Magnuson.

• Lark Hotels: Network of independent properties in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont. Approximately 22 of the properties are owned by the founder of Lark Hotels, the rest are owned independently.

• SLH (Small Luxury Hotels of the World): Network of independently owned hotels worldwide, though they partner with Hilton to offer their properties to rewards members. SLH itself is privately owned.

• Select Registry: Non-profit network of independently owned inns, BnBs, and hotels across the country.

• Historic Hotels of America: Network of mostly independently owned historic hotels in the US, including Puerto Rico & the Virgin Islands. Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a non-profit, to recognize and celebrate historic hotels.

Ways to Search for Independently-Owned Hotels

• Booking.com UPDATE 1/27/25: Booking.com has ties to illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. I do not recommend using Booking.com to book any reservations, but similar to using Amazon as a shopping directory, you can use Booking.com to find more more independent or unique accommodation. Then, go to the hotel’s website to book directly.

• BoutiqueHotelHub: Directory of boutique hotels around the world, partners with Booking.com.

• BreakfastAndABed.com: Directory of Bed & Breakfasts across the US and internationally.

• BBOnline: Directory of Bed & Breakfasts across the US and worldwide.

• InnSite: Directory of Bed & Breakfasts across the US and some international countries.

• Mr & Mrs Smith: Billing itself as a “travel club for hotel lovers” Mr & Mrs Smith has a curated selection of mostly independent hotels from all over the world. See US locations here.

Whatever steps you take, even if it feels small, it has an impact. You are part of the resistance, you are part of fighting back. Your actions matter.
